After having a slow start, I finally got the hang of it and totally mastered the technique - (skimming the surface of grass with the flashlight being careful to NOT shine light directly on them, grabbing them, determining what end is what, then grabbing them closer to their behind, then pulling them slowly out of the ground the rest of the way, being careful to not rip them in half) I was absolutely giddy to be catching so many. Every time I got another, I would yell to my momma, got another one! She would say - "damn!" because she was not catching any. :)
These little guys now live in a plastic container in the crisper drawer of our fridge minus the ones we have used for fishing bait the last couple of days. Ewww you say - they are in your fridge?! Yep - That is how we did it when I was young and that is how we are doing it now. I also remember a couple of times when I was a kid the worms somehow got out of their container and we found them all over the bottom of the fridge...how is that for ewww? :)

I am proud of my batch of earthworms - can't you tell? :)
