Ok, people...I have hardly any pics to post, I am uninspired, therefore, very few posts have been happening. It is not because lack of things have been happening though. We are filling our time. I have been helping at the school almost every week this month, either in 1st grade or pre-K. I continue to exercise at least 5-6 times a week. I go to Zumba on Thursday evenings. I have been pop free for over 6 months. We attended a wedding for a local friend a couple of weeks ago. I am still helping out with the 4H Cloverbud group - need to plan the next meeting for March. We have been caring for our seedlings and need to start more. I met up with my Homeschoolers and Homesteaders friends this past weekend, always a good time. We went to Coyote Cabins in Sullivan - nice little town. Brian has been cutting down lots of diseased trees. We burnt lots this weekend in a huge bonfire. My body is sore from moving heavy logs yesterday. My mom and I went to BINGO yesterday as well. We did not win a thing! Boo! I have been busy with appointments to follow up on some high blood pressure readings before being able to move forward with a 2nd/final surrogacy. Brian is super excited about the planting season this year. We are starting all kinds of ground covers that attract beneficial insects and/or nitrogen fixers (improving the soils). We have 10 big truckloads of mulch that was delivered that needs to be dispersed in the yard. All right....that is enough rambling for now.
Hello from Brian, Carla, Gareth, Zane, and Iris. We live in rural east central, IL on 10 acres. Brian works as a web programmer and Carla currently is a SAHM, used to do social work type stuff.
We have 2 sons, Gareth and Zane and 1 daughter, Iris. We have 4 cats and chickens, ducks, and guinea fowl.
This blog is mostly for friends and family to see what is happening in our lives and to serve as an online scrapbook. Come share in our adventures of raising 3 kids that were born within 2.5 years of each other and moving to the country as of June 2009 to live on 10 acres. Our plan is to fix up the old farm house, live in it a few years, and start building a new home further back on the property.
We are interested in gardening, beekeeping, sustainable living, attachment parenting, and secular humanism.
